In January 2013, National Geographic celebrated 125 years. One of the images chosen to highlight the century-long achievements was this striking image of a tiger taken by award-winning photographer Michael “Nick” Nichols in India in 1995.
The caption read: “By setting off a camera trap, a female tiger captures her own image in Bandhavgarh National Park.” The park is said to have a large population of royal Bengal tigers, especially in the central Tala zone.
